Founder of the Fellowship Living Facilities, Rick has lived sober since 1994, and is now dedicated to helping others do the same. He is married to Susan Tembeck Riccardi, who is also in long term recovery from substance use disorder. He has 4 children from a previous marriage and 8 grandchildren.
Rick spent 25 years on Wall Street in New York City as a municipal bond specialist. He managed institutional sales, trading, and underwriting departments in major firms, before having his own securities firm. Rick’s humanitarian side placed him on the Board of Director’s for the New York City Police Athletic League, which cared for over 60,000 inner city children.
Rick moved to Fort Lauderdale in 1999. In April 2002, Rick caused a serious auto accident. In 2004, he spent 8 1/2 months in the Broward Sheriff’s Correctional Facility where he became the facilitator for both the Anger Management and Substance Abuse Programs. From this life changing event he saw the need for a safe place to be clean and sober when one is released from jails, treatment centers or detoxification settings. Thus, while serving his 2 years of community control, the Fellowship Living Facilities came into being.
Rick is an active member of his local community. He presently serves as Founder of Fellowship Foundation Recovery Community Organization and Center, President of the Board of Directors of Unity Church of Pompano, President of the Board of Directors of Margate Chamber of Commerce, President of the Lakewood Gardens Association and Treasurer for Florida Alliance of Recovery(FAR) Board of Directors and past Treasurer for Florida Association of Recovery Residences(FARR) Board of Directors. Throughout becoming a very active member of the Rotary Club of Fort Lauderdale.
Susan Riccardi – Director
Fellowship House for Women
Susan Tembeck Riccardi volunteers her time and experience as a consultant to Fellowship Living. She often acts as the Director of the Fellowship Living Facilities Women’s House. Susan is the Vice President of the Board of Directors of Fellowship Living. Susan joined Alcoholics Anonymous in 1981 and then added Narcotics Anonymous to her meetings. After 19 years clean and sober, she suffered a severe relapse on prescription medication for bipolar disorder. Her new clean and sober date is Jan 2, 2002. Through the relapse, Susan learned the difference between just attending meetings and “getting a closer relationship with her higher power through the 12 steps.” Susan is presently very active in the AA program here in Broward County where she supports women, is a member of BCIC bringing meetings into institutions, offers her time and support to her home group and any suffering alcoholic/addict in need of help.
Susan is originally from Yonkers, New York. She met Rick in an AA meeting in Battery Park City where they both lived. Their long term friendship turned into a romance and in 1999 they moved to South Florida. Susan has one son, Curtis Tembeck who is a musician and songwriter residing in Berlin, Germany.
Susan has worked with women in and out of recovery for most of her life. She worked in women’s retail clothing stores as a salesperson, store manager, district manager, regional manager and national director. Susan was honored with many managerial awards throughout her retail career. In addition, as a volunteer she brings to Fellowship a wealth of knowledge and expertise gained from her experience as both Director of Human Resources and Executive Director of Advertising.
